Jennifer Robinson has rated Eliminate the Stigma of Mental Illness 2.3 out of 10

Jennifer Robinson - This blog has not been updated since 2008. It might have been an interesting blog three years ago, but I think the listings on this website should be updated more frequently than that and blogs that have been vacated for years shouldn't be considered active anymore. Maybe there could be a place to list old blogs that are now dead, somewhere on blogged.com.

Jennifer Robinson has rated Bonkers Bob schizophrenia blog 4.7 out of 10

Jennifer Robinson - This blog looks like it was making some interesting attempts at worthy discussions regarding mental illness, specifically Schizophrenia, and treatment. However, there are only a few posts and the last one was in the fall of last year, so apparently it was deserted.

Jennifer Robinson has rated xenophobia vs schizophrenia 4.8 out of 10

Jennifer Robinson - This blog has not had a posting since August, 2010. Therefore, it is very outdated as it is currently March, 2011. The posts that are there deal mostly with off-topic discussions that are neither related to Xenophobia or Schizophrenia, so I am unclear as to why it is labeled as a blog about those disorders. In my opinion a blog about a specific illness should have posts that deal specifically with that illness. I am sure the writer meant to discuss the illnesses in the blog's title, and maybe he did in posts older than the ones I read, but I did not see any such posts during my visit to the blog. Perhaps he decided to stop writing it, and that is why it has not been updated since last year.

Jennifer Robinson has rated Schizophrenia - A Carer's Journal 4.8 out of 10

Jennifer Robinson - This blog was once interesting, but it is no longer being updated, apparently. The last entry was from September of 2010. If you are interested in old blogs that are no longer updated, you might find some of the old posts there informative and enlightening in regards to Schizophrenia.

Jennifer Robinson has rated Schizophrenia 7.4 out of 10

Jennifer Robinson - This seems to be an outdated entry. However, the website Schizophrenia.com is an excellent site, and I used to visit some blogs there when they were more active. The site has information, news, and active forums which are very useful, and I refer people there from my blog.

This is a more honest portrayal of weight loss than The Biggest Loser. Real people cannot and should not attempt to lose 15 pounds a week like those on The Biggest Loser, who have been rumoured to be using diuretics, starvation, purging, and other dangerous tactics to keep up with the show's ridiculous expectations.

Thanks Big Pharma. Once again you prove that profits are valued over people in the United States.

My thoughts are with the people of Japan. It is time this planet come to grips with the fact that nuclear power and fossil fuels cannot sustain us and our efforts to use these sources of power are destroying our entire planet and will destroy every species on it, if we do not stop this lunacy now.

Free to Be You and Me: Celebrating Freedom

Jennifer Robinson posted an article on - May 31, 2010, 3:24 am
Today is Memorial Day, although it's not actually "day" right now, it's 3:25 AM (insomnia has been a big problem again lately). This is a day when Americans are supposed to remember the soldiers who have defended our freedom in the United States for all the years it has existed. So, on the t...

Obsessive Thoughts.....12345678

Note, before you read this post: In the past I've talked about the obsessive thoughts I had about a particular guy. This post is not about that. I actually deleted old posts about him a long time ago, as I was so humiliated by that obsession, and there are not many mentions of him anywhere on t...

Hey, folks~ I posted this on my Facebook profile a few days ago. I compiled it from various reliable sources, most of which I listed in the message. Today, I celebrated Mental Health Awareness Month with my local NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) chapter. We had our annual picnic. I actuall...

Dissociative Disorder is Not Schizophrenia: Truths and Myths about Mental Health

Jennifer Robinson posted an article on - May 16, 2010, 6:09 am
This is a topic I've wanted to discuss further here for quite some time. Many people in the general public confuse Schizophrenia with Dissociative Identity Disorder (D.I.D.), formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder. Some people also believe having Schizophrenia means that you have "split...

parallel forms of oppression, parallel tools of activism (and internalized shame)

A week ago I participated in a statewide conference for Florida NOW, and had a great time. I was on the committee that helped to plan the conference and it was great to see things come off successfully. I had the opportunity to meet several amazing women whom I admire, and see a number of women I ha...

Last night, on the way to have dinner with my mother, my sister, who was driving (she is living with me at the moment), pointed at the Mantrap in the shopping center we were entering, my sister and remembered that I used to go there to get my hair cut, some years back. Someone I'm very close to recently got into some serious problems due to alcoholism. I am worried about this person (who I won't name, obviously), and that has been weighing on my mind heavily. The good news is, the person is now in rehab and plans to beat the crippling addiction. A beginnin...

sixteen years of chronic illness

Jennifer Robinson posted an article on - Apr 2, 2010, 8:36 pm
The first time I had chest pains, I think I was fourteen years old. I remember that I ended up seeing a pediatric cardiologist, who did some kind of tests (I guess), and then told my mother that although I was definitely feeling real pains, he did not know the cause. My mother got mad, as was her us...

I was thinking about how my recent posts have been full of some complaints. Honestly, I didn't feel like I was complaining at the time, just stating some basic facts of my life. But, I don't like to give off the impression that I feel sorry for myself or dwell in negativity rather than possi...

I have been her kind.....(on disclosure and loneliness)

Jennifer Robinson posted an article on - Mar 28, 2010, 5:07 am
Since I was seventeen and first read her work, every so often a line from Anne Sexton's writing comes into my head. Right now, as in many instances, it is: This loneliness is just an exile from God. Mind you, I don't particularly believe in God, and the quote is rather melodramatic. But I ...

Jennifer Robinson posted an article on - Mar 24, 2010, 5:18 pm
Being sick sucks. Particularly when you are so ill that you feel barely able to function in the world, yet your illness does not show up on any routine tests, since it is not a routine illness that the universe bestowed upon you. Nothing is more insulting than having a condescending doctor imply tha...

About Me

I'm a thirty-something, vegetarian, feminist, with a great sense of humor who is not afraid to laugh at herself. I have been writing my blog about life with Schizophrenia - now diagnosed as Schizoaffective Disorder - for the past five years. I am involved with advocacy for people with mental illnesses and I aim to provide information that educates the public about serious mental illnesses, as well as hope for other people who live with these illnesses that their lives can greatly improve as mine has, through treatment.
