Like many others, I was a big fan of filesharing from the get-go, back when Napster was the big thing. Since then, I’ve ridden the BitTorrent wave, with varying degrees of success and satisfaction. Sure, I could get cool files and media, but the experience was always dependent on other people. If the file I wanted wasn’t popular, or was so popular that the leechers numbered in the thousands, BitTorrent was way slower than a normal download. That’s when one of my tech savvy friends turned me on to Usenet, and I haven’t looked back. After a while, it seemed only fair that I do for you what my friend did for us, which is pass the word.
