Allison Freeman paints office supplies on canvas and slate. The artist’s bio talks about the theme of “blankness” in her work, but what I’m attracted to is the simple humor. I also appreciate that this is a mainstream subject that pretty much anyone can identify.

Megan Diddie is a student at The Art Institute of Chicago. Her lush, biomorphic work is beautiful but haunting and at times, grotesque. While Megan is perhaps better known for her lurid, jungle-like piece, I appreciate the toned-down quality of the work below.

Mina Perhonen is a fashion and textile brand which combines Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetics. Their stores in Kyoto - Kyoto Arkistot and Kyoto are bright, playful yet not-overdone. I find the spaces very inspirational and would love to see them in person some day.
