Its not enough to just get 'em to church...

I recently decided to follow my long ago left behind credo to begin finding my passion, my voice, my..well, whatever it's called that gives that spark of creative meaning back to my life. Hey, I should write again! Duh! So I took a year off, and what I realize is that not only have I become less dis...

Guitar Hero?

Kathryn McGee N. posted an article on - Jan 17, 2009, 6:27 pm
Guitar Hero, World Tour is the new language in our home, spoken by everyone except me. With the promise of great fun and "family bonding" I picked up the drum sticks and banged on the platform thingamajig but was swiftly booed off. Not booed by my own family but the stupid computer game. This big wa...

"Must Love Dogs"

Besides being a fun movie this is one of Emily's life mottos. This little black rat is my aunt and uncles dog, Nicky, who is mean, and poops in our house as soon as she walks in the door. She growls and doesn't like anyone - yet Emily still loves her. Go Figure!?

Sassy or Spirited?

Kathryn McGee N. posted an article on - Nov 24, 2008, 8:44 am
I've been trying to determine whether Emily's penchant for being outspoken and demanding is cute or just contrary. I do my best to watch for signs of a smart-alack attitude in my smallest and toughest offspring. She is 38 lbs of determination and I love her spirit while trying to correct her sassine...

My Little Rascal

Kathryn McGee N. posted an article on - Nov 15, 2008, 4:55 pm
I try to watch and carefully choose what my kids see in terms of media: computer, tv, movies, commercials even, so I was shocked when Emily, in her sweetest voice, said to me, "I hate your stinkin' guts" EXCUSE ME? Where? What? How? I practically stuttered in confusion because I could tell she had n...

Everything about Emily

Kathryn McGee N. posted an article on - Oct 24, 2008, 9:46 pm
In so many ways Emily just seems older than Noah when he was 3 years old. I realize this at the strangest of times. She seems older in her expression both verbal and non verbal. When she gets angry it's not just yelling to be heard, it's hand on the hips, and attitude to go with the tirade she deliv...

I found happiness at Target

OKay, I didnt really find anything more than a few good sales at Target, but I was looking for happiness. I seem to be searching for something, and I cant really say what it is because I dont think it can be found in a store. New Things dont really fill the gap inside me that longs to be outdoors an...

Clutter is Killing Me

Home Organization might be harder than I realized. I thought I was fairly organized. Until I I couldn't find my keyboard just now to type. I'm digging and culling through this pile now for about 45 minutes. I finally see the problem. It's me! I am the problem. Not my papers. Not my desire to read ev...

An Intended Life

I listened with great enthusiasm, pen in hand, to Tiffany Liguori our MOPS guest speaker talking about Home Organization. But it was more than that. She gave practical, bible based instruction how to lead a more peaceful and intentional life. Anything to calm my overactive mind is a godsend. She was...

So yesterday was the first in a series of my IV Infusions of iron. I went to my appoitment armed with a good book, a bottle of water and nerves of steel. Yeah, right! I was scared to death about the idea of having myself hooked up to an iv for over two hours. I was surprisingly put to ease as soon a...

While I love the ABC series LOST which begins its 5th season tonight, I am completely confused by why things are happening. If you watch the show, and I would highly recommend that you do, it's not only whats happening that can cause confusion but why. Last season ended with 6 survivors pretending t...

Okay as I continue to watch the Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial, I'm thinking do all these performers in some way express the presidents vision or define him in some artisitc way? Or are these celebrities and performers asked to participate solely for their ability to entertain? ...

We were this close. This close to taking the record for going months and months without getting sick, and then it happened. I should have seen the warning signs. They say animals can sense when something horrible is about to happen, some natural disaster or alien invasion, or something. The animal ...
