Looking for a Reason to Sell

Kenneth Y. posted an article on - Mar 25, 2011, 2:09 pm
When I recently asked my good friend and co-author Anand what he thought the impact of the Nuclear crisis in Japan and the turmoil in Libya would have on the stock market -- he responded "People just need a reason to sell. It doesn't have to make sense." I couldn't agree with that statement more.

Libya: What it means for Stocks

Kenneth Y. posted an article on - Mar 3, 2011, 6:48 pm
A month ago, it was all about Egypt. This time, it's Libya. The difference between the two is that the Egyptian leader was fairly rational but the Libyan leader is seriously delusion and bordering on the insane. So what does that all mean for stocks?

Finally, there's some sense of stabilityin Egypt. Hosni Mubarak finally resigned as president of Egypt and the stock markets rejoiced. Actually, the stock market rejoiced twice -- once to his "rumored" resignation yesterday and then his actual resignation today.

I'm not the first to say it but I think AOL's purchase of Huffington Post for $315 million was a great move. Whenever you invest in a company, you're really investing in the people. With the acquisition, AOL just added a real visionary to their management team.

As everyone has probably heard by now, Egypt's in turmoil. How does that affect our stock market? Well, more than ever, our stock market has been affected by headline news. People respond to the media and when the media hypes things up, the market reacts. Last year, it was all the hype around th...

The story this week has to be banks! If JPM's (NYSE: JPM) earnings report today are any indication of future bank earnings, next week will be a pretty exciting week for all financial stocks. Citigroup (NYSE: C) is reporting on Tuesday, Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) on Friday and several other big na...

What a day for stocks! The stimulus for today's action is clearly Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) and it's settlement with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac over mortgage put-backs. The stock shot up 6%. The BAC settlement was for $2.8 billion but many analysts have pegged the put-backs as high as $10 billi...

Bank of America Corp – A Good Buying Opportunity

So it's been several months since I last updated. I felt pretty compelled to write about Bank of America (NYSE: BAC). At it's current price of $11.75, it's really a screaming buy. I believe the stock has been pretty battered due to a lot of negative press relating to it's foreclosure mess

Week Ahead

The last couple of weeks have been pretty brutal for the stock market. The volatility has skyrocketed and a lot of it has to do with irrational fears about Greece. I have said it once and I will keep saying it. Worries about Greece and Europe are completely overblown.

Making money in stocks is easy but Wall Street tricks you into thinking its hard and that you need to pay someone to do it for you. We now know that buy, hold and pray doesn’t work. The ONLY reason to buy a stock is to sell it at a higher price. Get that? Wall

Irrational Fears Causing Market Drops
