Spannocchia Doorway - 4 by 5 in. - Watercolor Sketchbook.
This doorway is always the same when I pull up to Spannocchia. I love the way the grape vines shade the doorway and the geraniums sit on the window sill over the sink. I did this sketch before my workshop students arrived to warm up.

I am at Spannocchia in Tuscany painting like crazy. The watercolor class was great fun.The internet is very slow so I have not been able to post. My newly found painting friend Jean Cauthern who is also teaching a workshop in Tuscany and I went to the Trastevere area to paint in oils. So I shifted mediums for while we are painting. I got up and headed down to the Trastevere area across the Tiber river. It is about a 30 minute walk. Believe me I am walking all over the place. I just arrived in Rome for my fellowship month of painting in Italy. I have to say sleeping on the plane just never gets any better. Ugh!
I was reading in one of my guides on Rome and discovered that Roma spelled backwards is amor which means love. Most appropriate, I would say.
