Dear Charlie...

Nathan posted an article on - Nov 2, 2011, 4:44 pm
Dear Charlie, The closest your stone-hearted father came to tearing up in the last month was while watching a Google Chrome commercial called "Dear Sophie" (look it up in your future version of YouTube), so I was inspired to totally rip it off.  If you don't cry while watching it, you definitely ...

Cell Phone Companies Are Evil

Nathan posted an article on - Dec 31, 1969, 7:00 pm
I've always said that one of my biggest pet peeves is someone, be it the government, mass media, or corporations, taking advantage of the ignorant.  No one does this more than the cell phone companies.  They don't sell phones... they sell data.  Picture this... Imagine I'm selling you a car.  T...

Saving Up for Daylight Savings

Nathan posted an article on - Dec 31, 1969, 7:00 pm
In this current economic climate, and the fact that Daylight Savings time is coming up, I thought that a brief refresher course on how to save up for Daylight Savings time would be in order. Since everyone will be losing an hour of sleep this coming Sunday morning, here's what I propose you do this...

I Drink Tap Water

Nathan posted an article on - Dec 31, 1969, 7:00 pm
I have a confession to make.  I drink tap water... not even filtered tap... I mean straight from the bacteria-laden, germ-swimming, prescription drug-filled municipal water source. When I tell people this, they make faces as if I had just told them that I eat fresh cow paddies... "you mean, you do...

I Hate Checking E-mail

Nathan posted an article on - Dec 31, 1969, 7:00 pm
I can't put my finger on why, but I cringe whenever I open my e-mail.  I'm not sure why I react this way.  I rarely check my non-work e-mail, and when I do, I never look forward to seeing how many e-mails I have in my inbox.  Sometimes when I have to send an email, I sign-in, quickly click "compo...

Swine Flu = Bubonic Plague?

Nathan posted an article on - Dec 31, 1969, 7:00 pm
Seeing all the news coverage of the latest "pandemic" makes me want to just stop watching TV or listening to the radio.  It's just too much. Photos of people wearing masks to work... parents pulling their kids out of school... schools in Texas closing... even the President and Vice-President are a...

SENATOR Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) is the Chairman... excuse me... Chairwoman... excuse me.. ChairSENATOR.  While addressing madam Chairwoman, Brigadier General (me...

How DVR is Ruining My Life

Nathan posted an article on - Dec 31, 1969, 7:00 pm
I've been hearing for years how DVR (Digital Video Recording) is the best thing since sliced bread, and I'm one of the many who feel this way.  I don't think I could ever go back to just watching live TV.  In fact, I think I could go back to slicing my own bread before I'd give up DVR.  So in a...

I wonder...

Nathan posted an article on - Dec 31, 1969, 7:00 pm
I remember in the old version of the Wheel of Fortune gameshow, they would make you actually shop for the prizes with the money you won on the show... I wonder if they made them do that on purpose so that the companies that provided the prizes would get a "free" commercial in the middle of the show....

AAMOF IDK WTF You Are Saying...

Nathan posted an article on - Dec 31, 1969, 7:00 pm
There's this guy at work whose emails are peppered with all this IM/Texting jargon that I have no clue about.  It's so annoying because I have to either ask someone or look up on google what the heck something like "FWIW" means (for what it's worth).  I mean, it may be easier for the writer, but...

Peace, Man

Nathan posted an article on - Dec 31, 1969, 7:00 pm
Quick Quiz: What do you think of when you see this symbol? Does it make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, thinking about a world without war and strife?  Does it stir up images of sit-ins and demonstrations and the power of the people? Well, it shouldn't... unless you just really, really love...
