Environmentalism is a religion which leaves out common sense.
Paul Wiggins Jun 7, 2010, 8:42 pm
Hello Bob & Nedddie. Yes vague statements with no follow up does lead to as they would say drive by shots. My statement was a icebreaker to start discussion. Taking care of the environment certainly requires common sense. When common sense is not used unintended consequences are sure to follow. Palin's argument implies good intentions led to bad unintended results.
Paul Wiggins Jun 9, 2010, 11:30 pm
An example of environmentalists going wild. About the late 90's the hills in Laguna Beach California which I lived close to had gnatcatchers which were protected. The environmentalist would not allow control burns which reduce the risk of severe brush fires. Due to this restriction when the hills finally caught on fire it was a tremendous disaster. Not only did the environmentalist not protect the Gnatcatchers with there good intentions but that they were all wiped out. Many homes were lost in the fire and a secondary disaster hit during the next rains. Large mud slides from the burnt hills destroyed more homes and took lives. All good intentions but short on common sense.

Reading full story I would like to see the full story. Here's a video of the raid from the Israeli military.

I question why so many jumped on convicting Israel before getting all the facts. Also question why the media just reported the side against Israel. Shouldn't the media report the news instead of slanting it. Put all the information out there and let the people make up there own minds.

There is no "only when" in free speech. No matter how despicable one's speech might be you must protect there right to say it. It's a 2 edged sword. Freedom is not easy.

Just for the same reason I can't say I will kill you. My rights do not give me the rights to take away another's right such as life. Do you think that if the constitution was used more consistently without regard to favoritism it would work better?

Can anyone answer what will happen if you don't buy insurance and you refuse to pay the fine? How will it be enforced?

It is not the intention to put anyone in jail. Why can't he say no one at anytime will be put in jail for refusing to have health insurance?

Paul Wiggins Dec 22, 2009, 6:52 pm
Yes, but you may not have room for the description. When new or additional regulations are enacted after an industry or sector is deregulated, this is referred to as reregulation. The term can also refer to the process of reversing deregulation in regions where deregulation turns out to be impractical or unmanageable.

John, I looked at the Economist. The one issue I see is it's "The main reason for anonymity, however, is a belief that what is written is more important than who writes it." I feel who writes it is important. Does it subscribe to fare and balanced thought? It looks compelling. Hope it doesn't disappoint.

Have you guys been watching the History Channel special on our troops fighting and dying against the Japanese who attacked us? Respecting there sacrifice to keep our country free gives me the answer.
Paul Wiggins Nov 20, 2009, 11:05 pm
Paul, I'm sad to hear that.
Paul Wiggins Nov 21, 2009, 1:52 am
John, did I say I hated the Japanese people of today? The President needs to remember he represents all the American people and many feel our country needs to bow or apologize to no one. Bowing is a Japanese tradition of greeting. Our culture takes bowing as more of a submissive stance. I think less apologizing for America and more concern about what the people think than others would be needed.

AARP plans to be big in supplemental insurance. Would this be a conflict?
Paul Wiggins Nov 8, 2009, 9:55 pm
Dick Morris site. * The AARP got a financial windfall in return for its support of the healthcare bill. Over the past decade, the AARP has morphed from an advocacy group to an insurance company (through its subsidiary company). It is one of the main suppliers of Medi-gap insurance, a high-cost, privately purchased coverage that picks up where Medicare leaves off. But President Bush-43 passed the Medicare Advantage program, which offered a subsidized, lower-cost alternative to Medi-gap. Under Medicare Advantage, the elderly get all the extra coverage they need plus coordinated, well-managed care, usually by the same physician. So more than 10 million seniors went with Medicare Advantage, cutting into AARP Medi-gap revenues.

Presto! Obama solved their problem. He eliminates subsidies for Medicare Advantage. The elderly will have to pay more for coverage under Medigap, but the AARP -- which supposedly represents them -- will make more money. (If this galls you, join the American Senior...

Hello Victoria

I would think Palin being not well informed pales to our Senate and Congress signing bills before they read them. Then they try to sell it at town hall meetings when the people know the bill better than they do. I question why Palin is being singled out with such a broad swath of false representation by our leaders?

I think Palin upstaged the party.
Paul Wiggins Sep 30, 2009, 9:10 pm
Kimmi, hundreds of people read this blog that do not post. I do appreciate you helping the conservative cause.

I heard Dennis Miller say tonight that the reason he loves Palin is that she drives the right people nuts.
