The Forgotten Feast

Paul Wald posted an article on - Feb 2, 2012, 6:42 am
How did people live before convenience stores, drive-thru menus, and pre-packaged food?  Quite well actually.  You didn't think food always came in a box did you?  Before the days of additives, colorings, and corn syrup debates, the human race thrived.  Food was hunted.  Food was gathered.  Fo...

Cream and Sugar With That?

Calving doesn't always go as planned. The inexperience of a heifer, health issues with an older cow, or problems with a calf can result in the need to bottle feed some of the baby bovines.  Another option is to try to get the calf to nurse a different cow.  This is often a challenging experience....

It has been an extremely dry year in my area.  There have been rains to the North and rains to the South, but we have remained dry as the storms passed around us.  The warm weather has been hard on crops and hay.  It seems however, to have been friendly to the local wildlife.  For the first time...
