About Me
On December 2, 2008, Houston-native, singer/songwriter Sarah Elizabeth Foster released her debut album, “Gardening from the Ground Up Part 1,” on Studio Sarah Records, her eco-friendly, tech-savvy label based out of New York City’s West Village. With the release of this album, Foster and her newly formed band, made up of cello, viola, guitar and some piano, introduced their authentic sound to the NYC music scene. An acoustic blend of 60‘s-inspired pop, fresh folk and classical motifs, Foster’s rich, melodic voice and honest lyrics resonate with audiences, making for a compelling live show.
Because of Sarah's band's unique acoustic arrangement, the live show is a more stripped down version of the album, a sound she plans to explore on the next release. While crediting Dusty Springfield, The Beatles and Stevie Wonder as major influences and sources of inspiration, Foster’s music aligns more with contemporary artists such as Jewel, Norah Jones and Ingrid Michaelson.
