While I have been working tirelessly in the apartment, I have been making sure to eat and drink as much as possible. I certainly drink my water, but one drink that I found to be helpful was Pina Colada :) Being a native New Yorker, the exotic holds a special place in my heart (and stomach).

What’s with this crazy weather? We get a lot of sun and clear skies, but now we’re facing heavy winds. The trees were actually bending over last night.

An article in the NY Daily News reported on PETA’s attempts to bring a Queens, NY restaurant into some kind of ethical compliance. The dish is nothing new, in all fairness, and it is a little confusing how PETA just caught wind of it. Perhaps it’s a new delicacy for the restaurant...?

After fighting to get the drywall upstairs, I made good on cutting it into the right size to fix the kitchen walls. (If you remember, I had to give the kitchen a little attitude adjustment...) The bathroom vanity top was the first thing that I ever tiled. I decided to tackle that first because it seemed relatively simple to do. If I could handle this with ease I would have the confidence to take on bigger tiling jobs, like the kitchen walls.

We had an unpleasant surprise this morning! A large, wounded dog was camping out by our back door. No one knows where it came from, but it was certainly there.

With cleanup done, I had to assess the apartment to see what would have to be done, regarding repairs/renovations. I woke up early this morning, pleased to be among the living. I was an officiating Elder at a a funeral last night where we said goodbye to a loved one, so life and death have come front and center again for me.
