About Me

I'm the author of The Hungarian Girl website (or for that matter - the actual Hungarian Girl herself!). As you can see, my background is Hungarian. I grew up in a traditional home with great food and culture. I now want to share those wonderful experiences with everyone just as I did.

TheHungarianGirl.com is an extensive guide to Central and Eastern European food along with a collection of recipes, articles, tips, news, and information.

I'm preparing to open an authentic Hungarian restaurant next year in Toronto, Canada, while taking professional culinary courses at George Brown College. I also have a extensive background in Journalism-Broadcasting and I'm a graduate of Seneca College. As well, I operate a specialty cake and pastry business.

I do use the term "Central and Eastern European food" to describe my blog. Although, I want to make it very clear that each country within these regions has its own history, people, language, culture, and traditions. However, regardless of their differences they all share great passion and love for their food.

My hope is to inspire others to learn more about these different cuisines and for those who are familiar with it to continue the tradition.
