At two Junior is genuinely chatty. His whole day is narrated, at great length and with frequent repetition: "Mummy, water in there! Water in there Mummy! In there! Water! Mummy! Water in there!" I long ago stopped counting his words but he is able to say most things he wants, and has some interestin... Comment - Like

A good friend has just had total pPROM at 17 weeks. It is her third pregnancy, and the longest one so far. It came out of her fifth IVF cycle. She is 42. She is single and has been using donor sperm, and of course dealing with all the challenges without a partner.

At about 15 months, Junior's words started to sound like words. He'd been clearly trying to communicate for a long time, but not managing to be consistent or very clear. While 'Daddy' has been around for a long time, and 'no' for slightly longer, other words appeared perfectly once, and then weren't... Comment - Like

Via one of my favourite bookshops, just found the '100 books every child should read' list, originally published in the Telegraph. He is in constant motion, although he will put his head down on the nearest part of us and say 'Aaah' to imitate the sound we make when giving a cuddle as he passes us in travel. At 10 months Junior continues to be a (mostly) very happy, very engaging, and very determined baby. If he doesn't want to be put down, he holds his body rigid so that you can't let him go.
