Meh. This used to be a really good blog, but the single dating expert's "community" has taken a turn for the worse. Early on, Evan was supported by a cast of wise, compassionate readers (mostly older or married females) who offered great insights into love and relationships. Nowadays, the discussions in Comments tend to easily devolve into pissing matches, where males line up against females and at least one reader always ends up demanding "show me the study that proves me wrong!"
It grew tiresome rather quickly.
Evan, himself, is a talented writer, with good comic timing on occasion. However, he was clearly burned by one or two of his ex-girlfriends in the past and thus allows his own experiences to personally intrude on the advice he doles out. Occasionally, his "advice" gives way to full-fledged diatribes against his exes that pertain little to the original question being answered.
The posts where he rails against his former lovers make for some compelling reading, but sometimes the rawness of his pain is tangible and feels uncomfortable - kind of like a stranger sharing too much personal information about himself that you just don't want to hear. It makes you wonder how this self-proclaimed single dating expert can claim his expertise.
