Rhonda Jean has such a wonderful way with words. Her sweet and helpful personality always comes out in her blog posts. She gives so much good advice and ideas and always inspires me to slow down and enjoy the simple life.
One of the most uplifting, inspiring and encouraging blogs I have ever had the pleasure of reading. The host is generous and gracious in her efforts to share her knowledge and experience with others, she keeps her instructions and projects simple and attainable for even the most unskilled reader. I am encouraged to try many things that have intimidated me in the past and find that I am gaining homemaking and other skills AND it feels wonderful to open up a new post each day and see what new words of wisdom, I do not say this lightly, and adventures in living simply and with purpose await me.
Well maintained blog with quite excellent photography, some nice recipes and more...one needs to read it and appreciate it.

THANKS HEEPS!
Excellent blog, what an inspiration for anyone who is trying to live a simple, frugal life. Thank you to Rhonda for giving me the practical wherewithal to put these principles into practice.
Lots and lots of content, always good-and clear simple instructions for a whole range of frugal activities, from budgeting to stockpiling to sourdough. The links are also well thought out and the photos are just beautiful......a very happy way to spend an afternoon, with lots of new ideas and thoughts to put into practise afterwards. I look forward to each day's post!
This is my daily treat. I escape into someone elses world for a few minutes. I learn how to improve my life and that of my family. Most of all I just enjoy seeing Rhonda Jean's practical philosophy in action.
As someone who is trying to get my family back to basics, I treasure Rhonda's words of wisdom. It is like a little gift to myself to sit down near the end of each day and pull up her blog. I think she would be an awesome neighbor!
I am a relatively new reader but already have become addicted to this blog. I receive a daily dose of inspiration and my desire to make changes to my own life have been buoyed by the writings of this "down to earth" woman. I wish you well in all your endeavors.
Love this site, lots of great info on living sustainably, living closer to the earth, cooking, gardening, canning, soap making... all the stuff that most people (now days) don't learn from their moms or grandmothers.
Thanks so much for putting this together for the rest of us. :)

This blog is beautifully written, with helpful advice from someone I would love to have as an aunty or next door neighbour. Rhonda Jean is passionate about how she lives, but is never dictatorial in her advice, such a rare mix!
This is the best blog I have read with both information on how to live more sanely and responsibly in these crazy times (are all times crazy?) and encouragement to begin in small ways that work to improve our lives without discouraging us. Rhonda Hertzel's voice is articulate, thoughtful, and authentic.
I love reading about Rhonda Jean's daily life and how she goes about simplifying things. She explains everything so that it seems like something that everyone can and should try. She is a very kind and gentle person.
This blog is down to the dirt, detailed, and fun. Rhonda's experiences and insights are spot on for anyone looking to simplify life and get back to the basics. Thanks for your blog.
An absolutely wonderful blog written with a warm, motherly voice. Rhonda Jean lets us into her kitchen, her garden, and her lifestyle, so that we can slowly make sustainable changes to our own lives.
Probably the most thoughtful, well-written and timely information I have come across. Rhonda is a very generous, intelligent woman who is able to express herself beautifully. I don't miss a day. The information is so very helpful and organized. Marvelous!
Hi there,
As a pensioner (and an old hippy...back when I had hair that is..lol)I am currently setting up my own property in an effort to become self sufficient. I don't think, that any one can become truely self sufficient but I do think that you can become close to it and swapping produce and recycling is a great place to start. Currently I have vegie gardens set up and am working on more along with building a chook pen.
Like you I try, where possible, to pass on what I have learnt over the years to those who wish to learn.
Even though I live on the south coast of NSW, I was led to your blog by a friend in the USA. Just shows that we are led to those things that really matter by various routes. All we have to do is grasp what is placed in front of us.
Thank you once again.
