In my opinion, the Red Sox off-season can be summed up with two words: Jason & Bay. The biggest move the can make would be to re-sign their slugging outfielder. From what I read though, both sides want that signing to happen, but it hasn't, so I wouldn't be surprised if the two sides can't get over whatever hurdle stands between them.

That is presuming of course that Jason Bay will continue to be as valuable to the Red Sox as he has been. I read an interesting article from a Mariners blogger, comparing signing Jason Bay to Richie Sexson. That kind of comparison would make any fan stop and think. Richie. Sexson.

Bay did hit the skids for a while this past season, but he's not the next Richie Sexson. I can't see him hitting the wall that quickly.
