
Italian growth is going to be "near zero'' this year amid the worst global financial crisis since World War II, according to Italian Finance Minister Giulio Tremonti earlier today.
``Certainly this is the worst crisis since the war,'' Tremonti said today in
testimony before the joint Senate and Chamber budget committees in Rome. ``The
effects aren't limited to the financial sector, they extend into peoples'
lives.''
