Stocks slipped a bit in a disappointing follow-up to Thursday’s surge, as they continue to search for a clear direction. For the week, the Dow industrials fell 1.2%, its the second straight weekly drop. The S&P 500 inched down 0.25% on the week.
Tech stocks were a bit of a bright spot during the day. The Nasdaq Composite Index managed to post small gains as the other major stock gauges sputtered. It rose 8.68 points, or 0.5%, to 1838.22. For the week, the Nasdaq rose 0.6%.
