Back-to-College Spending Down Due to Recession

I used to love going shopping for back school stuff. Pencils, markers, paper, you name it! Even if I didn't need it, I would convince my parents to get it for me.

Here in France, back-to-school shopping is at a frenzy, and supplies are already running low.

An anxious little boy on lunch-time news said, 'If you don't have EVERYthing on the first day, you get penalised - I don't want to be penalised right at the beginning...'

And the newsreader just Laughed!

I hope back-to-school spending gives office supplies retailers a lift in this economy.
