Roman Polanski To Fight U.S. Extradition; 'Ghost' Film Delayed After his recent arrest in Zurich, Switzerland, stemming from a 31 year old unlawful sex case that lead to his flight from the U.S., filmmaker Roman Polanski is challenging Swiss authorities' bid to extradite him back to the United States.

Why doesn't he just face his past? Have no respect for the man.

It sounds like he has done a lot to make a bad situation worse. While legal appeals are a part of the process, you can not just decide that you "don't want to play anymore" and go home.

The man is 76, which means that 31 years ago he was 45 years of age. I am not showing off my maths (actually I used my fingers and toes) but reminding myself that he was 45 when he had sex with a 13 year old. He was already old enough to be her grandfather! How would I feel if it was my granddaughter?
