Rumor: Black Cat as Spider-Man 4 Villain and a New Female Lead? We're going to pump the brakes after that headline because there's a lot of rumor manure to sift through. Earlier today Mania reported a big rumor that Black Cat would be the new villain in Spider-Man 4, and that Rachel McAdams (of The Notebook and Wedding Crashers fame) was the frontrunner for the role. After the crapfest that was Spiderman 3, they need to be very careful with this one.

At first glance, I like this (especially the Rachel McAdams casting), but whether or not this works might depend on a few factors. First, whether or not they add stupid additional villains like most stupid movies. And secondly, whether it comes out before or after the next Batman (which is said to feature Catwoman).

I have yet to see a good cross over film. especially when it comes to getting the love story right *coughrougecough* - lets just hope by putting this toon into the plot they can get something out of it that isn't "luke warm".

Ha. They've run out of the well-known villains, now it's time to get into the more obscure ones only hardcore fans know.
