Kobe Has 40 as Lakers Chew Up and Spit out Magic 100-75 This was not a contest it was a mugging. That was the way the Lakers want to play all series long. I suspect this will be a very uneven series with either the Lakers sweeping the Magic or (what I think is more likely) a really chalky series where the home team wins every game including Game 7.

The Lakers pulled away in the 2nd quarter after a momentum shift caused by Dwight Howard getting into foul trouble. From there, they played Laker basketball (overpowering their disheartened opponent). If the Magic want to win a game in Los Angeles, they are going to have to not lose heart so quickly.

The Magic got their share of foul calls in their favor, but they didn't get the ones that they needed. Every time the Lakers tried to get position on Howard it was called against the Lakers, but every time Howard went up for an actual shot, it was hack city. I think this formula will hold up in Los Angeles, but that the referees won't call the game that way once their in Orlando (Danny Crawford hates the Magic and loves favorites). In Orlando, Howard will be allowed to establish his presence and that will open things up for the Magic's shooters.

That being said, the Magic's shooters were just AWFUL in this game. The Lakers' perimeter defense was superb, and it won them the game. Hopefully Game 2 will be more competitive, but from watching both these teams play this postseason, I suspect we'll see a Game 7 in this series.

Bwahaha, suck it Orlando. Jeez, the way this game was built up made it seem like Orlando was going to run them over. Oooh, that's gotta hurt for the naysayers.

The game was definitely a snoozer. I stopped watching after mid-way thru the 3rd quarter. It wasn't much of a game at that point.

The real test will be game two on Sunday.
