Dutch authorities are attempting to gain temporary custody of a 13-year-old girl in order to prevent the teen from sailing around the world in a 26-foot sailboat by herself.

I know she wants to break a record, but 13 is really young to be out at sea all by yourself. Right now the record holder is only 17. Maybe she can wait 3 more years to do this. 16 still gives her the record.

I remember there was this really young girl who was also a pilot a couple of years ago. I think she died in a crash.

If authorities had stopped Edison from going out in that storm, where would we be now? I say let her go, just check on her a lot.
