I swear, sometimes what keeps me from bouts of bookbinding is the long, painful cleanup at the end, in particular washing the PVA and paste out of my brush. I feel like I'm draining the Bull Run watershed trying to get all those little white elastic bits out of the bristles.

Last week, Artlandish Gallery offered a workshop in traditional Japanese bookbinding and I was privileged to attend. The workshop was taught by artist Sonya Nicholson who did a great job of breaking ... . As if I really needed another thing to add to my list of things I love to make! Oh well! :)

The waxed Irish linen thread in the 4Â ply is what I use in all my bookbinding and handmade journals. Since so many have asked, I have started carrying this thread on the web site Tuscan Rose ... it easy to pull through holes when making books, it also keeps it from tangling.
