With a growing number of Chinese students at Syracuse University, the E.S. Bird Library has been working in partnership with the Chinese Students and Scholars Association on campus to build a collection of Mandarin language books.
The project to collect the Mandarin books began in 2007, and now the collection totals about 600 books, said Yuxin Yang, a Bird library technician.

They finally met, that is, American President Barack Obama and Chinese students in a Shanghai townhall meeting.
He talked and they listened. They asked questions and he answered.
All in all it's an uneventful event. He did speak about censorship and human rights. It seemed to be a minimalist approach.

President Obama spoke with several hundred students at the museum of science and technology in Shanghai today where he answered students’ questions in a Town Hall Meeting. However according to this post, some of the “students†who asked the questions were not exactly current students? These fake students were actually university officials?
