... workings. the reader, the new reader, accepts it in the spirit of play, then plays with it.
with each constellation something new comes into the world. each constellation is a reality in itself & not a poem about some other thing.
the constellation is a challenge, it is also an invitation.

Unknown Constellations
Hideki saw them immediately as they came into the lobby. "Baka gaijin," ... fit her prior vision with Spire. But it was like watching the stars in a new place, the constellations in different patterns than what she was used to. The walls were mostly wood and paper, to resemble an ancient Japanese ...

Darwin Deez - Constellations
I saw these characters with Bishop Allen last night in Fort Worth, and my God, their set stays with you like you wouldn’t believe. They are incredibly fun to watch, partially because they break into choreographed dance interludes between songs. I greatly regret not bringing any cash to buy their self-released stuff.
(But of course, that’s what the internet is for ...

Quiet right away! This record is called 'Constellations' and it's the second album from upcoming but shockingly named Bostonians, The Hush Now. Their sound is laid back melodic indie rock and it's built on low-fi guitar riffs with keyboards adding extra colour. The over-riding emphasis, however, is on the vocals of frontman Noel Kelly.
The bands strength lies in their ability to ...

‘A thing of beauty is a joy for ever,’ opined Keats at the opening of Endymion. On the evidence of Jane Campion’s ‘Bright Star’, this was a precept, along with venturing into the dank cold without an overcoat, about which Keats was unquestionably wrong. Campion’s film is beautiful. As Deborah Ross puts it, ‘Campion’s eye for detail and nature and ...

When painting I mount my big papers on boards. Sometimes - when I move the boards with my paintings around in my studio to get a better look at what I'm doing - the different paintings meet or a new possibility to see my imagery reveals itself to me.
I love the process.
Something totally different: Cecilia is having a moleskine give-away!
Some time ago I guestblogged (only in Swedish) at ...

Sorry for the delay in posting this week's lunches. I kept thinking that I needed to do it, when I was driving or otherwise not home with the camera card & computer. ;o)
Ben actually didn't have very exciting bento lunch snacks this week. With Thanksgiving coming up, he'll only have one day of school next week, then nothing for another week, so I am trying to use out a few ...

God Genome Project
Researchers at California's UC Davis announced today the successful completion of a three-year, highly secretive project to map God's genetic code. Originally commissioned by filmmaker James Cameron, who supplied the research team with holy genetic material on which to perform the study, the results of the God Genome project are expected to profoundly influence human ...

Robert Frost
You'll wait a long, long time for anything much
To happen in heaven beyond the floats of cloud
And the Northern Lights that run like tingling nerves.
The sun and moon get crossed, but they never touch,
Nor strike out fire from each other nor crash out loud.
The planets seem to interfere in their curves
But nothing ever happens, no harm is done.
We may as well go patiently on ...

... Mars. In the east another tinge of red was clear in the form of Arcturus. (It was less than two months ago that I was wondering at Arcturus and Bootes in the western evening sky.) Low in the southern sky were Corvus, the Crow, and Crater, the Cup, two constellations that I have not seen for a long time. If that were not enough, a satellite passed from north to south overhead to cap it all off.
