... best of him at the Emirates Stadium. But I have a lot more faith in him
than I do Senderos. Nevertheless, a fit Djourou could be Vermaelen's long-term central defensive partner, I reckon.

Our 11 players could be configured into a lineup:
Fabianski
Traore-Djourou-Clichy
Denilson
Walcott-Wilshere-Diaby-Vela
Bendtner-van Persie
An unconventional formation, sure. But Denilson could play a pretty conservative holding mid type of role, protecting the backline and trying ...

... full international call-up.
The diagnosis of Gibbs's injury will come as a welcome piece of good news for Arsene Wenger's injury-ravaged squad.
They are already without the injured Johan Djourou, Denilson, Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner, and on Monday it was confirmed that Robin van Persie would be out for six weeks with ankle ligament damage.

... be given a chance to come on again. I don't think featuring in the Carling Cup is enough. At this stage in his career, he should be playing more. I would be sad to see him leave. If not for Djourou though, he could well be at Everton.
Okay so there'll be a return to real football action this weekend at Sunderland. Can't wait. Then Liege again midweek. A good chance to all but seal ...

Arsene, we get injuries every year, last season the big ones were Theo, Rosicky, Eduardo, Cesc and Gallas, this season the big ones are Rosicky, Theo, Bendtner, Denilson, Djourou and Robin, the pattern here is we will always get injuries, so if you sell a world class striker, replace him, because as sure as eggs are eggs, we’ll need one soon enough.

RVP isn’t the only injury problem that Arsenal have, far from it in fact. Bendtner, Clichy, Djourou and Fabianski are ruled out while Denilson, Diaby, Gibbs, Traore, Vela, Walcott and Wilshere are all nursing their way back from injury.
