... . And given the time that's elapsed, it's probably time to label it officially a DNF.

I picked this one up after ... for that. I'll probably come back to it when I am in the mood, but it's been such a while, that I'd better stick a DNF on it this time around.

Before getting into the particulars of the DNF; some things I learned about a trail half marathon – THEY ARE ... into understanding my nutrition needs was well worth the struggle. I'm frustrated by the DNF and at the same time it may have been the best reminder I could have ever received for how important my focus on nutrition is ...

Despite my first DNF I'm actually quite pleased with the day. My goal for the season (and now next) was to finish in under 10 hours, six minutes faster than last ... well-wishers.
Love you all. Many thanks. Kept me going and I hope that you see that you helped me move towards my goal... not just that I DNF'd.
At some point I need to append some of the details of the season build, taper ...

Well, the big news isn't what I hoped for. I was hoping to report a big fat PR, but instead, I had my first DNF, or Did Not Finish. I have mixed feelings about it, but am glad I went. George and I did this race together, and we both learned a lot from it.
We did run, by several accounts, the prettiest half of the course, and decided to stop there, as my IT Band continued to hurt, and George ...

Just a quick note while still traveling.
At the half-way point of the marathon on Saturday I was two minutes behind goal pace and was only going to get slower. I decided to DNF and avoid the recovery costs of completing. A nice day out there, though!
I expect that I'll do a half-marathon on Cayman next weekend, and then be able to start back into training with emphasis on the aerobic system ...

I hate DNF'ing a book when the author seems like a totally charming person and I'm absolutely certain that at some other time I would probably love a book but . . . bad timing, I guess. I thought this book had the feel of the kind of women's fiction that I normally enjoy (a ...

... when the next race started. Neil was near the pit so I walked over to him and we both just shook our heads. I think I might have chucked the crank arm on the ground or something too. So race over. DNF. Crap.
I am sure that Neil installed it correctly. I don't know what the deal is but I am suddenly lacking faith in the crankset even if it is re-installed. There will surely be a call ...

By now many of you have noticed I don't have a finish time for the Beach 2 Battleship 140.6 race.
I chose to pull myself at the turnaround for the marathon. At that point I had been walking for 2 miles with pain, limping up the bridges. It was pretty clear that slogging out another 13.1 miles could do long term damage. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement.
Up until that ...

By Jullie Powell
Rated: DNF
From: Library, Thank Goodness
I heard great things about the movie that was based on this book. I haven't seen it myself but I sure hope it is better than this book.
This book was really not about cooking, or Julia Child or even about blogging. This was one great long whiney, profane rant with a lot of boring libral politics thrown in. (And ...

We did not finish. Of course, we didn’t mean it to turn out this way but well, we were just not adequately prepared for it.
Running a marathon is not running a 10km nor even a half marathon which you needn’t train very hard for it (for seasoned runners). It is something different; it requires a lot of hard work and training and discipline.
Do I feel disappointed? Certainly! It ...

At least I rescued this from a damp fate! I love Magrs' books and pick up any I see. This looked fun, if not totally a LyzzyBee book, with its vampire B-movie star attempting to save the ratings of an X-rated soap, set in Manchester's gay and fanfic communities. Unfortunately when I was half way through things got too icky with me, with ...
