I've written recently a guest post for Casa Dolcetto, A View of S'Archittu, about a tiny seaside resort in Sardinia, with rather fluctuating tourism moments.
I've been hanging out in S' ... all night long.
Never mind, I'm glad S'Archittu is coming back to life. Although, selfishly speaking, I enjoyed the almost empty beach.
Hope you enjoy my post at Casa Dolcetto!

Dolcetto means “little sweet one” and was, aptly, both the name of a cafe at 2967 West Broadway and an unwitting reference to its existence, as it recently closed up. In a space that previously housed the delightful Land of Green Ginger (I miss their muffins), Dolcetto was opened in November 2008 by the team

... the outer fillet of pork and various roots that I cooked in half a bottle of wine, then I added some herbs.
And with it, I drank the other half of that bottle. The Ca' del Baio Dolcetto d'Alba Lodoli 2008 (Giulio Grasso; 13,99€; 13% abv) was a really charming little wine! The scent is ripe with dark fruit and some herbaceous character that brings a delightful savoury edge. Good body, ...

... it was good to meet up with Natascha at Agriturismo Verdita earlier this month.
Casa Dolcetto is very happy to recommend this lovely Agriturismo which is immersed in beautiful countryside overlooking rolling hills. The lavender farm ... of agricultural practices.
As Natascha says: "Agriturism is low-impact, green turism".

... s one of the few meat things I would eat every day.
Dinner was spaghetti with pesto, garlic from Overbrook Herb Farm, broccoli rabe with garlic, hot pepper and olive oil and a big salad, plus some Pio Cesare Dolcetto d’Alba wine. Tacy, our office manager/girl Friday had this monster, monster garden this year and she brought me a sack of basil and I made a vat of pesto on a late summer day. ...

... at The Austin Wine Merchant)
We all agreed that the fruit in this wine was approachable and fun, juicy and tangy. This could go with just about anything at the Thanksgiving table.
Marchesi di Gresy 2007 Dolcetto d’Alba Monte Aribaldo

... ;s. It was quite tasty.
Then Martha had the audacity to order dessert. It is a local thing called bonet. It’s a chocolate pudding cake. Sound plebeian? Look at that sucker, willya?
The whole deal cost us 50 Euros, tax and tip included. It was a great meal that included a glass of Dolcetto and one of Nebbiolo. Oh, the name of the restaurant is Barolando @ Piazza Municipio 2 in Barolo.

... ;Alsace Rosé from Allimant-Laugnier ($45 for 1.5 liter magnum).
Recognizing that Zinfandel is always a good fit for Thanksgiving, there's a Zin-like bottle from down in the Santa Ynez Valley: the 2007 Dolcetto from Palmina Winery ($16.50 for a 750ml) -- it's kind of leaner and zestier than a Zin but with all those pretty fruit flavors of raspberry and black cherry that we associate with ...
