Der Serie "Star Trek - Deep Space Nine" waren im TV sieben Jahre beschieden. Leider gab es keine Fortsetzung der Ereignisse im Kino und so blieb offen, wie es mit den Schicksalen der Recken weiterging. Deswegen schuf man eine achte Staffel in Form von Romanen.
