Awards for Goodwill's "Trunk to Funk" re-design contest were announced at a special luncheon, Wednesday, Nov. 11 in the Nordic Lounge. All 17 entrants were students attending local Community Colleges, with 15 enrolled in the fashion design and merchandising program at LBCC.

Graphic design may be found in everyday items, from the UTEP logo, toothpaste tubes and cell phones. Our lives are surrounded by it, and because of that, it is a popular career to follow. At UTEP, some students are taking the lead in becoming successful graphic artists by developing their own exhibit.

Two SJSU senior interior design majors received awards in the 19th annual Planning and Visual Education Partnership Student Design Competition. Fernando Djohan placed third and Chao-Chen Kao placed in the honorable mention category in the international competition, said Catherine Scott, managing director at the Planning and Visual Education Partnership.
