Blogs about:  Friday Follies
Friday Follies... We're not starting this weekend off on a good note, that's for sure, so you're all going to have to seek out the good in the world for yourselves. ** By now, all of you have been riveted to your media sources concerning the shooting at Ft. Hood. (home of the U.S. Armored Commands) And I'm sure there are a lot of troopers that are wondering HOW this could ...

Some random links and observations on a Friday: Apparently not every reader picked up on the fact that my last post was tongue-in-cheek.  Guess you had to be there.  Fortunately, Scott was in fact there... David Gold wrote recently on some of the same issues, wondering why solar and the like have gotten so much attention from VCs while technologies like geothermal have gotten ...
... implementation/testing this year, I have not used up my vacation like I normally do so I am left with a challenge to use it or lose it. Interesting dilemma to have. Basically I will be taking off just about every Friday until the end of the year (Whoo-Hooo! 4 day work week!). Ergo, I am off today getting ready to head out to another weekend rally with the parents/brother. Should be a packed ...

Sometimes the headlines (and subheads) say it all: Man caught nude in truck uses the “explosive diarrhea” defense. Woman Calls 911, Says Boyfriend Won’t Marry Her Same Person Called 911 Saying She Couldn’t Find Car (Via.) Giant Breathalyzer Found Drunk in Ohio. Man stabs himself so he doesn’t have to go to his job at Blockbuster. “Sorry, Teach, I Forgot ...
This week I'm wondering how I'm going to fit in time to play everything I want to play over the next couple of years. I was just really enjoying my Morrowind Mage and playing my Galaxies characters when DragonAge arrived. Perhaps the pace will slow down once the story settles in, but the beginning of the game just grabs you and you want play just a bit longer to see what happens next. ...
Boy's rule: if you have a grade separated bike path that is even different in colour to the pedestrian path; then if you have two pedestrians, at least one of them will walk on the bike path. Cyclists are requested these days to dismount and push their bikes past the UTS rowing club. This is the first one that I have ever seen do that. Pussy. Secret message in the number plate?

By the numbers - up at 6:50AM for the 9:50 flight to OAK upon which we arrived a bit after Noon. Got van ride to Hot_L in Emeryville, checked in & put Clown Bike together in 15 minutes. Took an additional 15 minutes to get my act together (kit on, load jersey pockets, visit loo, put kit back on, etc) and down the elevator (an oxymoron?). A protest of sorts with 50 or so folks was going on ...

... twisted my ankle. Holy cow it hurt! I nearly passed out from the pain! It was horrible! I could not walk for 2 days! It was over a week ago and it is still very sore, but on the mend. By Friday I could finally walk and actually get shoes on, so we went to the store to buy our pumpkins to carve for Halloween. We went to Wal-mart, which is in the next town, thinking they would be a great ...

... can't believe it myself, but this silly Friday segment will be turning One tomorrow. It was 11/14/08 when I began ... his personal blog for several months before giving up the ghost. I, however, can never let go of anything, so the Friday Dance Party continues in these pages. The segment ... his brother's performance in Will Rogers' Follies, and when Jonathan Pryce's birthday coincided ...

... about the trials of bootleggers here:  In Sheer Folly, Daisy returns to the English countryside, when she and her friend Lucy go to a stately home to research a grotto for their book on follies (the architectural kind!). The house is owned by a manufacturer of plumbing products, to Lucy's disgust. He has assembled a very strange house party, an odd mixture of people that results in ...
