It may seem a bit redundant or circular to link to a blog that links back to this blog....
Nevertheless, I'm honored that Travis Prinzi et al. of The Hogs Head saw fit to link to my "Is Dumbledore the Hero of Harry Potter?" post. If you found it remotely interesting, you should definitely click over here to catch the comments.
And besides, if you're a Harry fan, you should be ...

... (The wife keeps it simple.) I agreed: "Good." That doesn't sound like much, but, really, there's very little to criticize about this Scotch. Using specially reserved Sherry-seasoned hogshead casks, this whisky's nose is caramel and butterscotch all the way. It's a smooth dram, very even, on the soft side with a little spice hit at the front, then smoothing out to butter, ...

... our places
There were chairs to be made, or posters of typefaces
Ethos and rigor were drilled into our brains
We were simply too busy to find time to complain
James Victore! Sally Hogshead! Stefan Sagmeister!
These were the names we were expected to master
But these stars, they all seemed to drop by each week
Hank had a Rolodex one-million names deep
Does the man sleep? It is difficult to ...

"I don't get your new fangled in-ter-nets"
"The metric system is the tool of the devil! My car gets 40 rods to the hogshead and that's the way I likes it."
Moreover, the quality start still bothers me.
Yea QS is really arbitrary.
The lowest standard for a quality start is three earned runs in six innings, and that ...

... RPG Porno! which I published back in issue 8 of Critical Miss:
That was my attempt to create a “NewStyle” type game like James Wallis did with Hogshead, in which you had something that was a roleplaying game, but which didn't use the standard games master asking players “what do you want to do” paradigm. I actually thought it was quite revolutionary, but ...

"Just like old Saxophone Joe
When he's got the hogshead up on his toe

Love that country pie!
Listen to the fiddler play
When he's playin' 'til the break of day

Love that country pie

Blueberry, apple, cherry, pumpkin and plum
Call me for dinner, honey, I'll be there
Saddle me up my big white ...

Bourbon Hogshead No. 888 – 46,3%
My Tasting Notes:
Nose: Lemon, cinnamon, honey
Palate: Vanilla fudge, mint, quite a spicy punch
Finish: most of the flavours and the spicyness quickly fade away, but there remains a suprising slight smokiness for quite a long time.
Overall: I quite like the taste, only the finish is a bit strange.
Score: 84/100 – Price Tag – Value for your ...

... my taste but recent weeks have seen me have plenty of the good stuff. Frau Wind and Cloud was fortunate enough to score a birthday-present bottle of Cadenhead's 2001 bottling of an 11yo bourbon hogshead Inchgower at 61%. Beautiful stuff and classic Inchgower. A fruit-salad nose gives way to honey and salt on the tongue. Superb stuff. It also goes great with 'Salzige Heringe' - a kind ...
