... it was already chilly. I felt it would be too freezing to go up now. I suggested Nakhal fort and the q hotsprings. Since Rustaq was just 20 minutes further on down the road, we all decided to do two forts and two hotsprings all in that same day 19th Nov 2009.

Headed up to Beitou, a place popular for its hotsprings. Building below was a Japanese (1895-1945) bathhouse built some hundred years ago. Now converted into a museum ... the hot one. The last time in Japan I felt the same - thought it was because I was dehydrated from sake, turns out me and hotsprings won't ever work out.
Later went to the CBD.
How apt, a Japanese fair was going on. With a GDP of ...

This summer my family and I traveled to Yellowstone National Park for a short family vacation. We had a wonderful time and visited the obligatory sites/sights: Old Faithful, Mammoth Hotsprings, Canyon Falls, Hayden Valley. My guide during our visit was Paul Schullery’s delightful 1997 book Searching for Yellowstone: Ecology and Wonder in the

After the grand canyon we were off to Santa Fe ( with a stop over night in Gallup, New Mexico). Now, some of you thought we were headed to a hotsprings spa in Arizona, and well, so did we...but turns out thinking really loudly doesn't ACTUALLY get you reservations so...oopsy.
And thus we headed to Santa Fe, New Mexico instead...this is a place ...

... came back from Japan nearly a year ago. I've enjoyed seeing the changing of seasons and the comings and goings of tourists. This snapshot is remarkable for the numbers of monkeys hanging out at the hotsprings and the complete absence of tourists. The day we visited there were easily five times as many tourists as monkeys. I had a good time but it would have been way more awesome to have them ...

We enjoyed more rain and local soveigners shops(Tiff bought a hat that makes me hum Michael Jackson songs - think JanetJackson) and then returned to the hotel and got ready to go to Baldi hotsprings where we enjoyed two hours of hot tubs and more rain. We then wentto see the active volcano, but after some scarey driving up the darkmountain, we returned to the hotel not seeing the ...

... we saw in our journeys. Hot summer means more fire danger.
The Alaska Highway had warning signs about Bison being along the road. We saw about 20. Cute baby, huh?
We stopped at Liard Hotsprings and took a dip in the cool end, which was still quite warm. It was really hot that day, so we walked back to the car in our swimsuits to cool off. Pretty area.
