It's a bit nuts. I really thought that I'd lost my taste for reading romance novels - particularly historials. Plots are rehashed, authors seem to have lost their spark and it's sometimes very jarring and annoying to read so many anachronisms as modern sensibilities and behaviours are imported into a historical setting.
