... in my hands, including some of the new Borders + Corners jobbies, but I put them back. I did! Yes, I am very proud.
Once home, though, I found focus, and made not just one, but TWO Malamute projects. First up, a candle:
This is the front ...

This is my first pass at packaging. I still need to work on a tag for it. I thought about ...

... holiday season Mishka NYC has three incredible jackets on the racks to get you thru the harsh winter months, the Malamute Snorkel Jacket, the Paddington Cloaked Duffle Coat, and the Leather Keep Watch Coach Jacket.
Of the three I have to say that I'm instantly OBSESSED with the Malamute Snorkel. It's lightly padded with a wool blend shell, a removable hood, and ...

... names that I might want to call the horse, once I found "the one". I wasn't particular about it being a gelding or a mare.... but, the name kept eating at me. I had a Timber Wolf/Malamute , named Shoshoni, at that time, and since Paints and Appaloosas are "Indian" horses, I wanted a Native American name for whatever horse I found, no matter what its "real" name ...

... Yes, there's a reason for the Great Dane theme tonight. A few weeks ago it was Malamute puppies, which, despite the fact that they only stay small and puppy-like for, oh, two weeks, are MADE OF FUZZ. Also, cute.)
(LHM, that first Malamute vid should come with a warning.)
So thank you, YouTube folk, for supplying us with easy to find, triple distilled cuteness. ...

... my husband and I have named four dogs together. The first was an 120 pound Alaskan malamute that we got as a 10 week old puppy. We went the map route. We looked at Alaska ... old and he was kind of a mistake. I saw his picture in the paper and thought he had some malamute in him. When we got there I realized my mistake, but...well...I couldn't leave him there! So, we had three dogs. This guy was ...

... look, I realized it wasn't a coyote, it was an ordinary dog, a husky or malamute, and it was on a leash. I hadn't noticed the person accompanying it because she was standing absolutely ... she did. The owner came running up and grabbed his dog.
Then the other dog--the husky or malamute--escaped its owner and attacked! I stepped in between the dogs, yelling something meaningless ("Hey! ...

... me from freezing during what promises to be a cold and wet Ozark winter.
I engage in this task not just for myself, and not just for the benefit of Boris, my blind and ancient Alaskan malamute. Hardly . . . I am imbued with a much greater purpose, an overwhelming sense of global obligation.
Despite the pain of stiff muscles, I was filled with a sense of joy. You see, as I do every morning, I ...

... was my magical mont-bell coat. I put that thing on, climbed into bed and it was like I had a heater wrapped around myself. Voila, fever broke. MAGIC.
I'm sitting here watching a two-year-old malamute work ever so hard at trying to get to the peanut butter middle of a bone. It's almost unbearable to watch. Talk about focus.
When in my life have I held this kind of focus? Only time I can ...

... I cleaned and semi-tidied Casa de Jammies on Sunday morning, and Sunday afternoon, my friend Bun arrived for a too-short visit. She and her very handsome, very dignified, very sweet GSD/Husky/Malamute mix stopped in Ohio on their way from New York to California. SuperDeor and Littlefoot got along quite well for the most part, but Little Miss was a little too in-Deor's-face for him to be ...

There are signs
that we will have winter.
I’ve been wondering.
It’s been very warm
and we hadn’t had our first frost.
Some grasses are still green.
Kye, the Husky/Malamute has been shedding
his winter coat
as if it’s spring.
The Persimmon seed had predicted snow,
so I was hopeful.
Then, just days ago, there came the first frost,
and this morning again
the grass was coated ...
