Mish Mash. Yep. Mish mash because it is a bit of this and a bit of that as far as information. Hope you can find it useful!
TEETHING BABY?
Our little Isabella has been teething for a little over a month. She is actually pretty mild mannered about it, but I can tell she is a bit uncomfortable. Here are some things that have worked for me over the years with teething ...

It’s time again for Non-Consumer Mish-Mash, where I write a little bit about this and a little bit about that.
I woke this morning to read on my Yahoo home page that, Obama warns of a “double dip recession.“Â Normally I am all about the double dip. Peppermint and chocolate; french vanilla and strawberry; cookies and cream and mocha ...

We spent the days at home this weekend. Willy was sick and quarantined away from us. So, the boys and I had fun playing together. I enjoyed capturing some photos of them throughout the day. So here's a mish mash of the weekend:
Yes, I bought them the same shirt! It was on sale at Target for $3!!! They are so handsome!!
This one makes me ...

We have been out early many mornings lately not wanting to waste any of these beautiful fall days.
We came upon some interesting fungus. This thing is as big as a softball. They were growing on the top of a levee we were walking on.
We weren't the only ones noticing these big ball-like fungus. Something was eating them. This one looks like something big took a ...

Like KISS or the McRib--I'm back, for better or worse. Sort of. I'm very busy polishing an essay and taking care of my growing family. Today Chris and I celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary at Carolina Kitchen (because we were curious, it's close, and it's infant-friendly). It was pretty good, but their fried green tomatoes do not pass muster. Yours are a million times ...

To begin, I'd like to say, "Congratulations!" to Susan and Daniel. Susan gave birth to a healthy baby boy early Sunday morning. I can't wait to see their sweet thing in person!
I am heading to Oxford tomorrow morning and will be there for a while. I'm sure I'll need to mow the yard, and I have perennials to divide. Fun stuff. I have to work before the 11:00 AM kickoff ...

IF ONLY IT WERE THAT EASY
The kids at my pre-school like to pretend to do stuff, of course. Right now their big game at recess is to pretend to go to the grocery store. They ask me what I'd like from the store and then they run and go "get" it and bring it back. It's like fetch with your dog but there's no actual tangible thing to fetch.
My favorite kid Olivia (3 years ...

As much as I respect our veterans and am thankful they allowed the government to ship them overseas to kill people trying to kill other people, I am very happy I get a day off in the middle of the week. Ah, thank God for war, eh?
Seriously, I am not as heartless as that. It's pretty serious and after watching a 6-part doc on WW2, I can't imagine being in that situation; bullets whizzing ...

1. It was a beautiful fall weekend here…temps in the high sixties, with skies as clear and blue as a bottle of Bombay Sapphire. I took advantage of this weather by planting pansies and doing some outside work at the house in the Vinyl Village–painting the trim around the front door, getting a coat of paint on the French doors, and scrubbing mildew off of the little white picket fence ...

It just gets better doesn't it? SIL, the one who threw the tanty about doing Kris Kringle because buying shitty $2 made-in-china presents for the 14 neices and nephews is more 'personal' so we're doing it her way - isn't even COMING for Christmas day.
'She didn't know'. My eye she didn't.
I don't even care. Well, I do really, in that none of us have ...

Today we have a bit of Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter all wrapped into one.
First is Thanksgiving. In yesterday's post, I mentioned that I put together a fall craft for Josh's class. Thought I'd share a photo of it today.
It's a turkey puppet. This one is the one Josh made. I traced out the feathers for them to cut and had pre-punched the circle pieces. They all had to ...

Have you seen the commercials for Kay Jewelery Stores? Two that I have seen feature a pretty woman and a not so good looking guy. He gives her a diamond doodad and she falls into his arms. What's the message here? Buy a woman diamonds and she'll follow you any where? Besides, the jewelery they are showing are bezel set diamonds - I don't like bezel set diamonds. I'm not that fond ...

I'm tired. I had quite a weekend doing very little. I am posting some holiday pictures from years past because my tree is still outside, the decorations are still in the cellar, and I am contently taking my time making and buying presents for whoever I want to..I love giving presents, I like that more than receiving them. I put some thought into gift giving so I don't make the ...
