I was introduced to Maya mists by the wonderful people of Studio Calico. I've been trying to play with it and learning as I go. One thing is for sure, Maya mists' saturation level is high. Of course, I'm totally heavy-handed, just look at this layout! That background cardstock is a light green! I am still adjusting from glimmer mist where I do need to spray and spray and spray and ...

Early morning mists. Pictures from our morning walk with Choco. Natural farm composting. I love the way the clouds form almost at our fingertips. Between the houses and the fields is a river. I think the water temperature must be warmer than the air temperature and a fog forms just above the surface. The first snow of the winter on the mountains above Nikko. God's beautiful world!

Morning. 7am. No birdsong. Muffled noise of cars from the northern Highway. A plane rising from Lisbon Airport. The usual sounds of the morning air silenced by a white shroud of November mist sweeping down the river to the ocean. Its like this most mornings these days and reminds me that life is not always as clear as we would like it to be. And once the mist has cleared, which often happens ...

The nights draw in and I start feeling the need for some richer stronger beers. It's perhaps a little early yet to start hitting the imperial stouts, so what else is in the stash? La Trappe Isid'or looked promising, named in honour of one of Konigshoeven's founding brothers. It pours a hazy shade of amber, giving up echoes of summertime past in its red berry aroma. The flavour ...

... my regular Companion Chronicle duties (which I'm trying to limit myself to at the moment), as I am reviewing the Companion Chronicle that came free with issue #411 of Doctor Who Magazine, The Mists of Time, written by Jonathan Morris (Max Warp, The Glorious Revolution) and starring Katy Manning as Jo Grant. This came out with the July issue, actually, but I kept on letting it slide, ...
The whole Sandman thing really came together for me with this collection. I was completely absorbed and really into the story, very involved with the characters and the storyline. I read it straight through in an hour or two while babysitting the other night (and attempting to hide the sometimes-disturbing illustrations from curious 6-year-old). In this issue, Dream has to go back to Hell to ...

It’s that time of the year again when the nights have drawn in and although the weather has been pretty mild down here in Kent, with just some wind and rain it can’t last before the cold weather arrives. So a lot of folk will be looking for new riding kit in the next couple of weeks. Uncomfortable kit is often overlooked as a source of riding problems. If there’s one thing ...
Photographers Comments This is one of my favourite views (apart from Rannoch Moor.... LOL) when we holiday in Scotland. It was the mist and clouds that caught my attention for this one, and I dont think I have a photo like it in my library. Hopes you likes it as I do.... Mountain range in distance is Glen Orchy and the water you see is Loch Awe - one of the biggest lochs in Scotland - ...
