Mr. Linky!
There's only one rule to Musical Monday -
it's gotta be musical!
Sometimes we have themes,
sometimes we don't.
Make up your own ... moment.
And don't forget to spread the comment love!
P.S. The Celebration of Peace and Coexistence starts next Monday! But I will still be having Musical Monday!! If you'd like to use the Celebration as inspiration for your Musical ...

Has everyone recovered from all the turkey and Black Friday shopping? No? Me either. Good thing the fabulous Kaytabug has agreed to step in with this Musical Monday guest post!
Musical Monday-Peppy Edition
I have a playlist called Feelin' Good. It contains peppy, upbeat, sing-along songs. The kind of songs that when you hear them ...

This is my first week being a part of Diane's Musical Monday meme. I discovered it a few days ago, and naturally, being the music freak I am, I have to play too.
Epica has been incredibly inspirational for me as of lately. Being that I have recently joined a symphonic/progressive metal project (more info on that one later), I have been ...

So, I’ve picked Madonna’s Borderline for this week’s Musical Monday . . . evidently, there is also a double disc of her latest greatest hits collection that included the hit. So, all is forgiven — I just bought the wrong one!
Enjoy!
Something in the way you love me won’t let me be

Welcome to the 116th edition of Musical Monday, the weekly quiz that Soccer Dad and I alternate hosting. As always, the challenge is to identify the title and artist of each song quote below, as well as the common theme of the entire set of songs.
I could say much more about the timeliness of the theme, but I'll hold off for now. Just to note that the ...

Another "bit of a gap" in the Musical Monday posts, but then, at least I am consistently inconsistent :D
Anyways, misspent youth, here were are once again. Well, when I say "Youth" I mean "late teens" but none the less... Stiltskin - Inside started out as "that Levi's advert" way back in ...

I have music on the mind....
So here are some "Monday Musical Melisms"...
*Dear KEZK 102.5 Radio Station,
I absolutely love Christmas music. However, it is just too early for you to play it.
Sincerely,
a StL music listener
*Last week I sang in church in a duet for the first time ever. I'm not going to lie, I was a ...

... idea that someone shoots people because they don't like something is just too much a downer - even for me. (and you know someone really did that? Craziness.)

Ian Dury and the Blockheads topped the charts in 1978 with "Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick". Ian Dury (1942 - 2000) contracted polio when he was seven but he overcame the restrictions of this to become a rock star.
I mention this only because there is a link to my blog: Paul Bura, whose poetry I have featured twice in Pause for Poetry (see right-hand sidebar), is also a polio victim and ...

Last week I helped Justin lead the music for a secretary's conference. He asked me to sing the song "Our Hope Endures" by Natalie Grant. I personally have not endured tragedy in my life, but I definitely know others who have and remain hopeful and joyful in the Lord in the midst of difficult circumstances.
I love the lyrics in this ...

I have this double album, "Stranger Than Fiction," which is by a group called "Don't Quit Your Day Job" and is comprised of a bunch of writers, to include Amy Tan, Stephen King, Normal Mailer, Tananarive Due, Dave Barry and many more. They redo a number of classic rock-and-roll and country songs, plus a few new ones, like "Tupperware Blues" and "Happy ...

I mentioned yesterday that I remembered most all of the songs from Godspell. That's because several of them are actually resettings of words that were already in use as hymns. This is an adaptation of a prayer by St. Richard of Chichester.
Day by Day
Day by day
Day by day
Oh Dear Lord
Three things I pray
To see thee more clearly
Love thee more dearly
Follow thee more nearly
Day by day

A couple of months ago, my friend Rich posted a link to a Gabe Dixon Band video on his Facebook profile. Regrettably, I didn't watch it for some time, but when I finally did, wow! What a treat! They're a piano trio and I highly recommend checking them out.
A few weeks ago we did All Will Be Well in church. I think it's a beautiful song (and it was a blast to play), but my favorite ...
