One of the most fantastic phenomenons I've seen emerge from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have been the Patriot Guard Riders, who are amazingly faithful about honoring veterans of these wars, even though their politics are all over the spectrum. Great story by Julie Sullivan here.

This 22 year old soldier died Dec 1st in Afghanistan...I just watch his final homecoming live on our local news station....very moving my eyes are still watered up. The patriot guard riders were on hand....like I said, very moving. I salute you soldier :patriot::patriot: may you rest in peace.
