Out of courtesy I mentioned to this neighbour that we would be shearing on Friday, and that there may be some inconvenience as we would be walking our sheep along Goodes Lane ... his appendix out in the next few minutes. He is (naturally!) uncertain when he will be able to arrange the shearing.
So ... as I say ... one needs to be flexible and maintain a sense of humour when ...

The sheep were very cooperative, though I'm guessing they miss their warm wool about right now. Here is the silly looking outcome of all that shearing. A little before and after shot.

how did your children go when they started shearing a room?
did there sleep routine change?
if they sleep through the night did they start waking up
did they wake up any earlier?
any information will be much appreciated

In fact, Alpacas are sheared once per year, when their coats are really, really warm and heavy. Usually, this is in the Spring time so they do not overheat in the Summer and warmer months. How convenient? Shearing an Alpaca is a natural and necessary process.

I ground my shearing gear. It involves large (14 inch) plates with emery paper stuck to them, ... , the sparks fly and it gets ground nice and sharp. Tomorrow is the first shearing day of the season. I am not fit for it. There's nothing you can do to get fit for shearing, except shearing. *gulp* But it's only 18 so a nice easing into it gently.
