But there is also the strangeness of his humanity. Though genuinely human, he is unique in his humanity. He is totally sinless. His ... be like. The strangeness of the human Jesus holds a mirror before us; it is an exemplary strangeness, for it tells us what God’s intentions are for each of us.”

I hope I can keep up the spirit in appreciating my own strangeness~. I’ve been decisive and according to my own nature, for a while there earlier in 2009 thought I was sinking back into a hole but I’m still here in all glory *cough*.
It’s still isn’t very funny, and at the same time it is. Front row tickets to the best comedy show on earth, I always say. But no matter how ...

... , at the moment, and much enjoying it. The narrator is a psychotherapist. I pulled this quote from it this morning:
I've often thought that none of us is what we imagine, that each of us normalizes the terrible strangeness of inner life with a variety of convenient fictions.
As a therapist myself, and as a person who's done plenty of therapy in my time, I can certainly agree with this. ...

Well there is yet another cattle mutilation in Colorado. It would appear that the phenomena is real, burgeoning and not going away! I will continue to shout this mantra until most of our fellow citizens wake up to the realization that something is going on, and in my opinion it’s not good. Last week on Acceleration Radio, my guest was Chuck Zukowski. He E-mailed over the weekend with news ...

In the absence of a garden, I have taken to tending a glass jar full of a murky, milky, bubbling mush. I feed it daily with a spoonful of ginger and a spoonful of sugar, and keep it nestled warm & cosy beside the heating outlet in my bedroom.
It is a "ginger beer plant", a developing colony of little beasties that are in the business of turning sugar into alcohol. Well, it's ...

We’ve all gotten so used to the clockwork impact that the movement of the U.S. dollar has on everything lately. But here are some interesting factoids from Gluskin Sheff’s David Rosenberg, via a rather swell post over at Pazzomundo.com.
The U.S. dollar has become a huge ‘carry trade’ vehicle for all risky assets. Historically, there is no correlation at all between the DXY index ( ...

The comments to the three previous posts have featured a variety of responses and reactions to the idea of “Gospel-less” sermons, teaching, testimonies, etc. I am happy for those of you who are in churches where this is unthinkable, but I assure you that here in the Bible belt, this is not an illusion, particularly at the ground level of the most basic understanding of what is being ...

In Darklore 1 Greg looked at the similarity in sounds heard in a wide-range of strange phenomena and I pointed out that Bigfoot shares a number of unexpected parallels with UFOs, including overwhelming stenches. So I am pleased to see a piece on Parafactor teasing out some of the background and implications:
Are these odors, like the banal and unsuspicious smells we encounter everyday, simply ...

I was typing the phrase “I don’t” just now in a text message. I missed the space bar and it suggested “Odontoceti” as a correction.
What’s more reasonable? That the combination Idont is supposed to be I don’t or that I intended to write Odontoceti?!
I don’t even know what the word Odontoceti means.

As I reported in Sunday's edition of Fermented Fur, something strange is going on. Recently, I have mysteriously found myself cleaning closets, and I ventured into Wal-Mart twice in one day, despite not having been there twice in the previous four to six months. Plus, I quit smoking 19 days ago, and I am eating everything in sight. I've developed a disturbingly intense relationship with ...

I assume he means per day, at this point in all their presidencies. Not, for instance, that in his first year he's received as many as they did in their entire terms. I'm nervous about the ...

pjnascar88 to InDesign Talk on 2009-12-15 13:22:18 - I'm doing my second merged doc project, so I'm still green when it comes to the nuances.
Created my spreadsheet, have my photo paths in my field, everything looks great when I preview the merge -- multiple records, 4 up, they appear in their 2x2 grid, ...

130. Neighbourhood Witch Scheme!
On the 25th September 2009 the Daily Mail newspaper reported on actress Phyllida Law, and the fact that from her home at Crediton Hill, West Hampstead she'd had two ornamental gargoyles stolen. The woman, whose daughter is actress Emma Thompson, found her stone figures missing in the summer of 2007. Inspired by the film, Harry Potter & The Order of the ...
